I have great sadness for the many atrocities and fighting going on in the world and sincerely hope that efforts by the U.N. and others can help end them. I sincerely hope for true cease-fires in Congo and Sudan. I would also like to thank you for addressing the need to protect the environment in times of conflict.

I am also grateful for the assistance you and the U.N. have addressed and given to places of the world that have been hit by natural calamities in the past year, like Haiti, Burma, and Pakistan.

I am in the process of condemning a missile defense program by the U.S. in the Czech Republic and Poland and I hope that it calls the U.N. to do so as well. I am planning to write Iran and Russia to let them know that there are citizens in the U.S. who do not support weapons of mass destruction and missiles, with the hope that their people contact their government to speak out against weapons such as missiles.

In this day in age, with global environmental problems, poverty, and an economic revolution, I believe it is utmost importance that countries come together and that an environment of cooperation and trust is fostered. If countries stop focusing on war and the military, there can be more energy invested into clean energy and sustainable living policies to ensure a stable natural earth in the future.

I thank you for your service and consideration.

Sincerely,
Magnus Lu

http://mjl1982.googlepages.com

my website

Desire for Future President of the U.S.A.

Dear Honorable Senator Obama,

I want to share with you my gratitude and joy for your service to the world and all your efforts in local, national and worldly affairs. Since I am writing, I want to also share my appreciation for the overall service you undergo daily in Congress, it is truly calming and reassuring to have someone like you heading Congress. In my eyes you are actually the President of the United States because if Bush and Cheney are impeached coupled with an amendment to the Constitution to impeach individual positions in the White House, that would make you President. I know that election day is next week but you have always been the "real" President in my mind. Unfortunately, in reality policy is dictated by the current White House administration. I believe wholeheartedly that the system of checks and balances intended by the founding fathers of the United States would be reinforced if impeachment of individual positions in the White House could be carried out.

I thank you for your service and consideration and hope that you consider what I have proposed.

Sincerely,
Magnus Lu

Letter to Senator Feinstein

Dear Honorable Senator Feinstein,

I wanted to share with you my joy at your stance against the facility of Guantanamo Bay Detention Center. Although events have transpired to change my tone in the manner of which I write. First off I offer acknowledgement to the efforts of China regarding Sudan but I am well aware the future holds much more energy to be given to the region considering the clout that China has there with their actions of acquiring oil there and China's future demand.

As for Tibet, I sincerely hope that matter is taken care of as soon as possible because the matter is quite grave and the government of China is messing with millions of lives, which is the only life these people will get. For the sake of freedom and my sanity, I sincerely hope China considers what I have already written (web site follows) in terms of bringing freedom to the people of Tibet.

I just wrote a letter to the President of Iran, Ahmadinejad, stating my sadness and desire to see the death penalty eradicated from country's protocol in punishment. Although I am in disagreement in the fact that I believe countries like the U.S. have already lost power in many ways, with the resources available today I find it quite difficult for countries to be not held accountable for their actions. These same resources also enable the public to stay informed with the governments of the world and at the same time voice their opinion on these matters. With this in mind may I share with you not only my opinion but my feelings at the world's punishment of "criminals." I am against the death penalty and am saddened by states such as Iran, the United States, and China (to name a few) to carry out the death penalty.

I read this today.

http://www.hrw.org/english/docs/2008/09/18/iran19845.htm

I truly hope you consider banning the death penalty and seeking the foundation of establishments to use therapy and time to rehabilitate criminals. Senator Boxer I commend you for paying tribute to those that lost their lives and loved ones on September 11th. I also commmend you for the protection of more than 700,000 acres of California wilderness. Senator Feinstein I applaud your sponsorship to increase California's water supply. I found it extremely comprehensive and green and truly hope with energy and patience it will be a reality.

A matter that I would like to raise awareness about on the behalf of the people of Haiti is the extreme circumstances that they are under due to four hurricanes passing through the island of Hispanola. The U.S. has already pledged $10 million dollars but the New York Times reports ( http://www.nytimes.com/2008/09/12/opinion/12fri2.html?_r=1&oref=slogin ) that only half is new money. I hope that the U.S. considers investing more energy in Haiti's long term future so that there exists infrastructure to deal with all the water. Not only the water but sanitation and creating a sustainable environment. Here is another quote I got from the New York Times: Mr. Préval told The Miami Herald, “This is Katrina in the entire country, but without the means that Louisiana had.” ( http://www.nytimes.com/2008/09/11/world/americas/11haiti.html?fta=y )Below I have some more late articles on the current state of Haiti and I hope that the United States can help them especially considering their past influences on the region. Working with the United Nations as well would be extremely beneficial as well.

I thank you for your consideration and service.

Sincerely,
Magnus Lu

my website: http://mjl1982.googlepages.com/

Some more news articles-

http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/americas/7601565.stm

http://news.bbc.co.uk/today/hi/today/newsid_7611000/7611816.stm

http://www.un.org/apps/news/story.asp?NewsID=27996&Cr=Haiti&Cr1=Storm

http://www.un.org/apps/news/story.asp?NewsID=28019&Cr=haiti&Cr1=storm

JOIN THE INTERNATIONAL CRIMINAL COURT

Dear Dianne Feinstein and Barbara Boxer,

I would like to share with you my gratitude for the service you are providing the world. I am happy that you, Senator Dianne Feinstein, highlighted the foreclosure situation on your website and hope with actions such as grant assistance that people affected by foreclosure can focus on other matters in the world. I am also overjoyed at the EPAs ruling to limit emissions for small engines under 25 horsepower. Senator Barbara Boxer, I would like to thank you for highlighting and applauding the Approval of Comprehensive Adoption and Foster Care Bill by the Senate Finance Committee. I am extremely happy Senator Boxer that you reintroduced the National Oceans Protection Act and hope to see it passed because I believe legislation such as this act and services of the likes of NOAA are crucial to the well being of the planet.

On a personal level, I am writing to let you both know that it would give me great joy if you both could put on the floor of Congress legislation to join the International Criminal Court (ICC). I believe it is of utmost importance to the planet and humanity itself that every country in the world be on board with the ICC. I truly hope that one day war will never exist and the ICC will exist but will be extremely bored, but until that day could ever occur I believe that every country should join in order to bring peace in the world. To me it seems obvious that if a country does not join that they are doing something wrong so I believe it is of utmost importance that the United States does join in order to show its support for the Rome Statute, the ICC, the United Nations, and peace. I understand that if Congress passes legislation that the President could veto it but I hope both houses override his veto thanks to a two thirds majority, so that the appropriate justice can be served and that the people of the world can trust great countries like America. Not only that but to ensure that protocol like the torture never occurs again and I am hoping to visit the International Criminal Court to discuss matters of private interest being satisfied by starting a war.

I thank you for your service and consideration.

Sincerely,

Magnus Lu

my website

http://mjl1982.googlepages.com/home

Merry Vacation

Below is a letter that I sent to Senators Boxer and Feinstein respectively and the letters were identical in nature with a P.S. containing my latest letter to President Bush.

Dear Senators Boxer and Feinstein,

I would like to wish you a merry vacation. Hopefully you are treating yourself to a retreat of health and happiness, perhaps some massages and other forms of healing because I can imagine being one in your position to be quite stressful.

I would like to share with you a letter I wrote to President Bush.

Its below in P.S. form.

Thanks again for your consideration and services.

Sincerely,

Magnus Lu

P.S. Letter to President Bush

Dear President Bush,

I would like to take this opportunity to share with you my gratitude in your preoccupation with the current crisis in Georgia. Again, I have much appreciation for your call for religious freedom in China, although I wish to see human rights and freedom of speech added to the agenda, as well as pushing China to resolve the Tibet crisis. On another note I would like to stress my disagreement with your policies. Your usage of taxes, handling of the “war on terror”, and placing rockets of "defense" are just a few of matters that I strongly disagree with.

However, I would like to share my understanding as to why you and your “cabinet” have gone about doing things the way you all have done. I have studied science and a word that I believe that can help explain why things have gone the way they’ve gone is conditioning. I believe that through our life experiences we all have come to our own view of the world, yet I believe that sometimes it is hard to realize this and I hope to shed light on this facet of the human mind. I have studied your history and your family as well, I am sure if I look even further back it becomes even clearer, perhaps even further back one may see complete opposites in the nature of yourself.

Another facet of science that I would like to bring up is survival. In nature animals do what it takes to get the caloric intake necessary to survive, whether it means migrating, eating new plants, and/or sadly killing their own for survival. Penguins for example must let their young die if they themselves cannot find food. In the sense of survival I would like to shed light on how I believe it is of utmost importance that your policies change for the sake of a peace for mankind and saving the natural earth.

I would like to give some recommendations and ideas to hopefully direct you and your advisors in a manner where mankind can survive peacefully and in harmony with natural nature.

First off, I would like to recommend totally reorganizing many departments of the United States. Get rid of the pentagon and in its place put the Department of Peace and Greening. Military and foreign services I believe should be united with the globe and I believe the current U.N. and Interpol is a perfect place to fuse. If fused with the U.N. a headquarters for United States’ division could be fused into Langley. Whatever one decides to call what’s in Langley could focus on making sure that the country is secure and safe within its own physical borders since the rest of the world is focusing on their borders through the U.N.
I am sure what I am proposing here will raise protests because of one’s beliefs and/or fear of losing their job. I believe that the many skilled that are already employed can be used for this new agency and if there is a surplus may I suggest giving out grants for other peaceful purposes? I believe this reorganizing will eventually give a lot of budget on other matters, therefore why not give grants to former employees for other ventures? For example, giving out grants to open up a paintball (hopefully environmentally friendly paint once the rest of the world has food) facility for the public or how about a sports facility? There one could still use the skills they’ve been using all along in the public sector, just in a different manner. Who knows maybe they will welcome the fresh air and movement that comes along with the outdoors? For those that really resist change, why not give them a retirement fund so that they are satisfied, I am just fearful of their boredom so I believe grants may be more popular.

On another front, with less focus on military action, why not convert obsolete policies regarding aircraft carriers, ships, and other forms of transportation for other matters. For example, why not use an aircraft carrier to bring alternative energy and materials for green houses to places in need. Why not convert the areas of the aircraft carrier that are not holding these peaceful and green supplies into an entertainment park? Convert non-storage areas of the carrier into amusing and fun places where the locals that receive the alternative energy and other supplies of need can go to enjoy the many forms of entertainment that I am sure imaginative minds can conjure up.

I would like to stress the great importance of joining the International Criminal Court and any form of a unified planet. I would like to share that I am always going to be for peaceful ventures and that I will continue this communication with whoever is in office come January. Although I hope that you see the light and perhaps completely change your policies in the closing months of your last tenure as President of the U.S. I am not big on names and divisions and understand the underlying themes of them, but lets take the parties within the U.S. government. The Democrats and Republicans are the ones at the forefront, my hope is that you and your advisors disregard this division for the sake of humanity and the planet. A great symbol of unity to me would be for you to work openly and willingly with the likes of Kucinich, Boxer, Nader, Ron Paul, Feinstein, Pelosi, and company to peacefully handle the problems facing the globe.

Another facet of policy making that is inter-connected like everything, is stances on drug policies. I believe it is essential to legalize the private growing of marijuana and coco. In conjunction with this legalization I believe it is extremely important that there exist education regarding coco cultivation and use. The dangers of making a pure form of coco using its alkaloids should be emphasized and the healthier manner of consumption be coupled with it. Eating it as a leave is far less concentrated and can even be used as an alternative to coffee. Coffee here and there, coco leaves here and there. I believe that a variety of plants are essential to health, therefore mixing up one's drinking habits is beneficial to the body, whether it be tea, coffee, water, alcohol, juice or whatever it may be. I am sure you are well aware of the powerful side effects of leached coco leaves and can advocate for me the dangers of its consumption. With these two plants legalized I believe it will help out the countries that produce them at the expense of the general population. Now those that have produced them will have a much smaller consumer base and will have to focus on other resources to earn an income. Hopefully they will focus on peaceful endeavors such as food and energy for the locals. Imagine a day when taxes of the world go to energy companies like Sempra and no one has to pay for electricity.

My main form of communication has been through the internet, but if need be I would be willing to make any physical appearance in order to help with these matters. You all are welcome to my house in Sweden as well to discuss these matters. Speaking of the internet, couldn’t a lot of policy decisions be made without the need of a place like Congress? Why not get rid of the Senate and House of Representatives and convert them into a theatre or whatever? Filibusters will still continue, it will just be artistic and for entertainment, who knows maybe the proceeds of the acts could go to peaceful and green endeavors. With technology (computer camera, internets telecommunications) those in Congress could conduct meetings, most likely ever single one of them would have about a hundred or so small screens popped up on their big screen wherever they may be and when it’s someone’s turn to talk that little picture gets amplified. You could be sitting at your ranch in Texas conducting politics!
I sincerely thank you for your consideration and service.

Peace and Love,

Magnus Lu

my website

http://mjl1982.googlepages.com/home

August 9th, 2008

Dear Senator Boxer and Senator Feinstein,

I would like to thank you for your services and I am glad to see that Congress is beginning to outlaw certain harmful elements in consumer products. I would like share how happy it made me to see U.S.’s government in acknowledging Tibet, I truly hope the Tibetans get what they desire and that their needs are met.

On the national front I would like to share with you some of my ideas concerning the national gas/energy crisis. To begin I would like to highlight a tidbit from Wikipedia:

“If the United States had to supply its entire demand of 21 million barrels per day (3.3×106 m3/d) without resorting to foreign imports, existing US reserves would last only three years at the current rate of consumption.”

If those reserves could really last three years I would open them up immediately which would lower the gas prices. As to how much we should use, I believe all of it. In three years time if all is gone we will be totally dependent on the output of oil on American soil and to the supply of the world, which will be even further stressed as more are able and choose to depend on oil for energy. I am not an expert of the taxes involved with consumers purchasing gas but to fully assess an approach towards a solution to this crisis I would analyze state and federal policies towards taxing gas. I believe that analyzing the taxes linked to gas is crucial towards solving the energy crisis. But by making gas so inexpensive wouldn’t it be green and smart to save to convert their car to electric or buy a new car that is electric.

In all honesty I am saddened that oil prices have had such a tremendous effect on the people of the world, whether it be people struggling to get to work or people starving and scrapping to get food due to the high transportation costs. But at the same time I see a silver lining. Its made bicycles more attractive and perhaps it has given many future desires to use it as its main form of transportation. A hypothetical silver lining that I imagine is with oil so high, someone is getting very rich, which leads to me hoping that they use the resource of money to install wind mills and solar panels in their respective region and hopefully one day expand out.
In regards to opening up ANWR I am quite against the idea of opening up pristine wilderness to oil fields. On the other hand, I commend that you and your colleagues are thinking of the livelihood of the American general public when you bring up opening up ANWR in order to reduce oil prices. 10 years sounds like a long time for the U.S. public to get that oil but then again so does the amount of time that it will take the world to use only clean energy. The Saudis are reluctant to open up their reserves more than is needed to lower prices so I am for another round of talks with them in order to help the WORLD out.

What I am about to write does not mean I support drilling in Alaska but if the worst case scenario came down I would only support it under the following guidelines. First and foremost it would be owned by the U.S. government, that way one does not need to question the greed behind it. Safety and security would be the first priority once installed. Safety not only for the workers but for nature in regards to emissions and spills. As for protocol I find it extremely important to consult or even hire the people in the fields of science/environment. There are so many angles that have to be accounted for in this matter that I find it a mind boggling task, almost to the point of: why not try the mind boggling task of giving incentives for converting your car to an electric car or giving incentives to the car industry to sell do it yourself electrical conversion kits for your car. But if this task of Alaska actually materializes then getting some of the people at universities across the world and the likes of the T.E.D. speakers would further reinforce this momentous task. As for the oil I would use the available technology to capture as much of the natural gas instead of some it burning away into the atmosphere. Since profits won’t be considered with this oil may I suggest using the record taxes that could be received for alternative energy.

On a personal note, I envision a day when cars run on electricity or something like algae (why use food for fuel when we have places like western Africa starving?) but until that day comes its gas, so I would support drilling if there is a clause stating that one day the reserves would be closed and made obsolete. As for the leftover land I make the optimistic statement of ensuring to use the biological knowledge of the times to help return the habitat to its natural self. That would be my first desire, but who knows maybe with the roads that have been created due to oil stations that people would want greenhouses there, lots of light in the summer.
In regards to investigations into the practices of oil companies I highly look forward to the reports. I believe by looking at the oil companies would help alleviate the crisis. There are a lot of reports of corrupt practices but why isn’t anyone doing anything to stop them? On that note, I have an extremely revolutionary idea that would have enormous support by an overwhelmingly majority of the population. I support the government have total control of the oil. One may say that jobs will be lost but in fact more will be created since there won’t be people at the top hoarding the money. It is an idea I am very serious about that I hope Congress considers deeply. If this were to occur there would be an enormous shift of jobs becoming governmental. Leaving the Exxons and the Shells with the resource of the money they already have along with their research teams and equipment to continue the study of alternative energy. In all reality I could only see the oil companies fighting for the oil because of the control they’d lose. The ones making the decisions there already have loads of the resource, money, why not put ego aside and handover the oil. They’ll be raking in with the technology of green fuel eventually to restuff the resource of money.

With talks to other nations of oil to help alleviate the crisis coupled with opening U.S.’ reserves I would hope that U.S. would not have to start drilling in Alaska. I once said that I would love to see all the fossil fuels in the world sucked and carved up and sent to space since we would never use it again. I later retracted thinking that maybe one day those fuels would hit a living planet which would possibly harm them, but who knows, maybe that life form lives off of that type of fuel. Anyways getting back to earth and how to solve not only global warming but war, I feel that it is of utmost importance that nations almost annihilate their military spending. The U.S. especially since its spending is astronomical and is so dependent on oil and coal for energy. I am not bringing this up because I support a with-drawl of Iraq and Afghanistan as soon as possible but to highlight to overall damage that investing in the military does on the world especially when used abroad. PTSD, pollution, deaths, mangled bodies, fighting, negative feelings attached to the past, these are all things that are inter-connected to war. By staying or going in Iraq or Afghanistan has an infinite amount of outcomes. But why stay and waste away? Pulling out puts one less target for violent extremists to target. The world is helping those regions in non-militaristic manners and I hope they continue to do so. The other day UAE wiped a debt Iraq had with them and imagine what could come with continued cooperation. Perhaps nations installing a solar farm with security? The nations surrounding Iraq and Afghanistan will continue to help non-violently I hope. Hoping is a definite dependence on the future but what more can one do when mentalities of war exist? I truly hope and push for the removal of troops in those two countries.

So the Taliban and Al Queda still exist? Let them be. Didn’t we learn anything from what happened between them and the Russians? Come home, use the National Guard for guarding at home or if worst comes to really worse, guarding a pipeline from Alaska to the lower 48. I don’t know exactly how I got it or believe this, but I truly believe and have faith in the regions of the world to help Iraq and Afghanistan peacefully. Whether it be installing or upgrading new hospitals, schools, solar or wind energy, and the general spreading of peace and understanding.
I usually write my congress people with exact desires but this one I gave some possible solutions and my ideas and if it calls you, I have a website (http://mjl1982.googlepages.com/home ) with my desires to Congress that you may be interested in and I hope gives you inspiration and hope.
I have a lot of desires in this world and I could easily list them off right now like Sudan, China, and moving/converting military bases in the U.S. but I know you have a lot of issues on the economic front in U.S. so I will let them be but if interested my website under writings has my views. Please do not hesitate to write me if you would like my input.

As for the impeachment of Bush I am quite relieved to see it on the table because I would find it horrendous that future generations could look back and ask themselves how is it possible that a President could get away with what he’s currently getting away with without impeachment proceedings. Situations of war and terror are no excuse for some of the offenses he has committed and to impeach Bush now is certainly called for. Although it may stall progress in the Congress concerning other matters, it is however critical to the future. I have written Congress previously with desire to see an amendment concerning an impeachment procedure that goes down the cabinet at the White House. I have stated my desire to see an amendment that deals with givng out contracts to private businesses when dealing with the horrendousness of war. And I have also stated my desire to see the age requirement to become President to be lowered from 35. I believe 25 to be an adequate age.

As for calling the White House to start ANWR drillings I will wait to do so until the reserves and hopefully restructuring of the oil industry occurs. But I will email the White House to open up reserves.

I thank you for your service and consideration,

Magnus Lu
I was overjoyed to read Senator Boxer’s statements of a responsible with-drawl from Iraq and Senator Feinstein’s statements of China holding a dialogue with the Dalai type='text'>Impeachment, God, Iraq

Dear Senator Boxer,

I wrote you the exact email but I made the ending more readable by spacing out my paragraphs and adding a bit on the Electoral CollegeI wanted to share with you my gratitude and joy at seeing the Global AIDS, Malaria, and TB bill. I am confused about the bill you have concerning more flights to D.C from California. From the Reagan National Airport site I got two direct flights from San Diego to Washington. I am quite confused on that one.

I wanted to propose some excellent ideas for the U.S. and the world in general and I sincerely hope you consider them.

First, an amendment to the Constitution that enables an impeachment of every single member of the White House, with each member being tried and considered at a time. For this process to occur, the Congress would have to support the impeachment first.

Second, an amendment to rid the word religion in any part of the U.S. government, including the pledge of allegiance.

Third, I would like you to consider a withdrawl from Iraq.

Fourth, Again, Please Abolish the Electoral College

Below is a piece I have written concerning these matters and the world for further assistance in these matters.

Dear humanity…

I wanted to take this opportunity to stress the importance of unity through tolerance and peace. I believe doing so will save human and animal life along with sparing what is left of the natural earth. First and foremost I would like to condemn that acts of violence that are being carried out throughout the world and I would like to focus specifically on Iraq to promote unity throughout the world.

By using events that have occurred recently there I would like to promote peace. I want to condemn the latest suicide bombing that occurred in Karbala and my thoughts go to all those affected. I would also like to condemn the United States and Great Britain for using war as a tool to create change. I also condemn the United States for not complying with the United Nations and the U.S. Constitution. I hope that the following will help inspire those that promote war and violence as a means to create the change they want to see in the world from seeing the benefits of unity through non-violence and tolerance.

Regarding the violence in Iraq that is being carried out by Arabs I would suggest stopping if you would like to create the change you want to see in the world. Unless the change you want to see in the world is for your children to die. Hypothetically speaking, one bomb’s a place and people die and the change that those people want occur. So what happens in the future when the kids want change? They see that where they have gotten in that moment happened through acts of violence so they end up turning to violence to create the change they want to see in the world. This is an endless cycle if one chooses to turn to violence. The same goes for United States foreign policy. Therefore it is absolutely necessary that people stop committing violence.
I watched a documentary tonight by Al Jazeera concerning Arab unity and what it will take for it to occur and my answer is democracy and tolerance. I believe that a government that is democratic where the population of the country is elected by all the people at an age where the people deem old enough to vote. I find it of utter importance that religion not be tied to government whatsoever as well. That is why I oppose the usage of God in America’s government. Whether it be in the pledge of allegiance or in the court of law. I was surprised earlier when I heard on NPR radio McCain’s statements that the United States of America is a Judeo-Christian country. That is simply not true. I have friends of all religions and non-religions. I myself have no religion. I do not believe in god due to my understanding of science, whether it be biology, astronomy, chemistry, or physics. I find the topic useless to even talk about because there are so many other facets of the world to focus on. A conversation on global warming, war, sustainable farming, peace or music I find much more important.

I am well aware of the infinite amount of reactions that will be received due to my disbelief of god. There is one and only one reaction that I would like to address. That is towards the people who feel the very foundations of what they’ve believed all their life to be shaken. I must say that that is something totally normal. It has happened to me. I too have had a belief shaken only to have a new belief come out. My belief was that I never thought I was a competent, intelligent, and an attractive person. One’s belief may be shaken immediately and changed in a moment upon reading this but I must state that my belief of self worth was something that gradually dawned upon me. I feel grateful for this because I have no doubt that the words that I write concerning the globe would never have come out if I did not have this self worth. If this self worth never came about I would have been so focused on myself that I could never focus on the earth.

I would like to highlight a problem with religion. Some religions are founded thousands of years ago and some just a couple of decades ago. The problem I have is that people follow them even though it was written that long ago. A lot has progressed since then and humanity has learned a lot. Some religions abdicate government being engrained with its religion and that is a big problem because it simply cannot happen due to intolerance. If a government is based on religion it is being intolerant to the people that do not believe in that particular religion. Is there a single place in the world where a country has but one religion? I believe not. That is why I find it of utter importance that god be taken out of the pledge of allegiance and all other facets of American government. On my letters to Congress page, one may paste this desire for the American government to amend this portion of itself. I will address another amendment later.

I would like to now return to Iraq. In order for peace to occur there I find it utterly important that people there stop committing acts of violence. To my knowledge the current Bush administration says the situation in Iraq is not stable enough to pull out so if that is the case I see no reason why they wouldn’t pull out if a month of non-violence were to occur. I am well aware that this may not happen but in any case I suggest that the people in Iraq protest violence peacefully.

When I say peacefully I would like to share some advice. If it calls one to take to the streets like has been seen with the matters regarding Tibet, may I suggest carrying signs and walking in silence. If there are thousands of people yelling and shouting it will higher people’s blood pressure due to the increased amount of waste needed to be exhaled and oxygen inhaled because of the breathing. This in turn will elevate people’s levels of hormones due to the whole circumstances of the situation. So to walk in silence carrying signs I believe to be the most effective way to promote peace. Not only that but I personally feel the whole serenity and peacefulness of protests carried out in this manner to be more effective. Especially in this region where there exists so much violence and relatively low levels of peace.

I am well aware of the safety concerns in Iraq so if it does not call one to protest may I suggest another avenue as well. People may write on the internet, to papers, in the papers, and news anything that I have shared here in order to raise people’s awareness of one person’s concern, care, advice, and hope for the people of Iraq. Which I hope inspires others hope for unity and peace in Iraq and throughout the world as a whole, if NASA or anyone along those lines wants to send this out to space, please feel free.

I would like to now turn my attention towards democracy and tolerance and how both cannot exist without the other. Upon my life experiences I have come to the realization that we are all truly one physically and if one looks back far enough we are all (animals included) related biologically. Although we are all one in that sense there is one thing where we are not, every single one of us thinks differently. Even those twins that seem so utterly alike! Therefore if a government is going to succeed they need to be democratic so that those that did not vote for the winners of an election know that at least they represent the majority of the population. Tolerance is tied in there because it is necessary to support each other in a positive and productive manner. If one has views against someone I believe it is alright to discuss it but when all is said and done to move on knowing that we are all the same yet thinking differently. With tolerance at least one can depend on tolerating that person’s beliefs and values which in turn will lead to less friction leading to more productivity and happiness.

I would like to bring up something that I heard someone state in the Arab Unity piece by Al Jazeera. An individual brought up how he believes that what is known as the “West” has changed In response to that I must posit the following: What would happen to a society where within it exists people that believe in these so called “Western” values? Will they not want to create the change that you seek except towards their ways? One does not approve of hitting a ball with their feet, yet the others do not approve of hitting a ball with their hands. One does not approve of dancing and the others do not promote sitting still. I am being sarcastic, I know. But in all honesty, where does it all end? Concentrating on these differences will get no where if one really wants to get anywhere, tolerance in these matters are key.

Previously on my blog I put a link to a Carl Sagan YouTube. I want to share with you what I think about when I watch it. I think about how insignificant we all really are in this whole universe and how there exists mentalities in the world that create situations of insignificance. Like mentalities of hate, greed, and/or control that lead to people, animals, and the earth being treated insignificantly. I also think about how beautiful the earth is and how sad it makes me to know the things I know about what is going on towards changing it from its natural state due to our actions. I do have faith for its future, but that faith will not change my persistence in recycling, advocating alternative fuel, eating less humane meat, and earth mindfulness.

Since a great deal of this piece deals with Iraq I would like to address another current event that took place today. That being United States’ Vice President Dick Cheney’s statements that the Iraq war has been a “successful endeavor.” I find it absurd, horrific, and sad that anyone could possibly think that war is successful. Let alone the basis of the facts that have come out concerning the war. To this day I still have not made up my mind as to the proper way to handle the current administration. With the facts that I have gathered however I do feel an impeachment should occur and an investigation should be conducted in regards to the whole matter. Here is the reason for impeachment: they attacked Iraq going against the Constitution, Congress more specifically. After impeachment, an investigation should take place as far as war crimes are concerned. By the way when I say impeachment, I mean an amendment to the Constitution that impeaches the whole White House where each member of the cabinet is considered.

Since Iraq is a nation in its infancy, may I suggest that the people of Iraq look deeply into the people they elect. I mean really deep. Do not just use the main stream media. Find out whatever you can by word of mouth, blogs, or whatever medium out there about who you elect. What’s especially important nowadays with money being so heavy in politics in the world, is what business they have been involved in their past. May I suggest being weary of anyone with ties to oil, natural resources (that are valuable to humans) that are in abundance in the region, and military.

I would like to comment now on the new American Embassy in Iraq. I understand that the security in Iraq is very unsafe so I understand the high cost of the palace, I mean place. But I find some things wrong with it. First of all, if you can build something so full proof, why wouldn’t one do that first to a water sanitation plant or a solar field? The key thing with that embassy is its high level of security. Why didn’t the Bush administration build those first? Or a high security hospital? Who knows with cleaner water maybe there’d be less people needing to go to the doctor. I sincerely hope water kits and solar kits are being considered to be handed out. To end I would like to say the following: I would love to see the American Embassy turned into the United Nations instead or have every single room in that place filled with grow rooms for vegetables since there already exists a temperature control system and energy.

My last note is this for the world. That one’s frustrations, hope, and desires in the world may not be seen right away so please remember that it may take time and one’s patience to finally get it. So if negative emotions come up like grief, sadness, hate, or ideas to commit and carry out violence may I offer the prospect of peace, happiness, and unity in the future.
I thank humanity, earth, and the universe for inspiring me to share. May I also reiterate the necessity of forgiveness for the sake of peace, progress, and positive productivity.

Peace and Love,

Magnus Lu

In case one is interested I have placed some links relevant links below:

http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/in_pictures/7300390.stm Beautiful and Lovely peace concert

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TFVY5gbT2VU A segment of a great program topic of Arab unity to be honest I do not even like that they use Arab, why isn’t it world?

http://current.com/items/76410422_coming_out_the_youth_of_iran “Western” values?

http://www.tehrantimes.com/index_View.asp?code=164134 Why is nuclear power being sought when there is no way to dispose of it yet?
